The Aqua development includes 3 towers off of Cook Road with street level retail space.

The lower mission neighbourhood between the new Bluebird Park on Okanagan Lake near Lexington Drive and the popular Rotary Beach Park on Lakeshore Road is slated for several major Lower Mission Condos in the near future. The Aqua by the Mission Group will be built on the existing boat storage site beside The Eldorado Hotel and Public boat launch at Cook Road.

You may also be familiar with the beautiful Water’s Edge luxury condos project on Mission Creek that was completed several year ago and the ill fated Water’s Edge North condo development that was lost in a fire last year just months before completion. The developers at Water’s Edge North have plans underway to rebuild the luxury condos. We hope that project has a successful conclusion.

The city has had a fairly consistent vision for high density housing and resort development along this section of Lakeshore Road. The area includes the Hotel Eldorado, Playa Del Sol Resort, Manteo Waterfront Resort and the approval for the redevelopment of the 18 acre Hiawatha RV Park by Westcorp. Westcorp is of course the developer behind the visionary new hotel / condo project downtown beside Kerry Park on Queensway.

With Aqua, Mission Group will be maximizing the number of Lower Mission Condos on the site. They received approval for 3 condominium towers to be built along with a mixed use retail and commercial space. A unique feature to the project is the large boat storage warehouse that will be available. The boat storage will be a 4 story boat storage facility on the East side of the site. The project is planned for construction in 3 stages and will include 350 Kelowna condos when completed.

1.       Tower 1 on Truswell Road to include 14 Story Condo tower and Townhouses

2.       Tower 2 near Cook Road to include a 16 story Condo tower

3.       Tower 3 near Capozzi Street to include a 12 story condo tower

Mission group has mentioned an Aqua’s build timeline of 5 to 7 years for this Condo development Let’s hope demand is strong for this beautiful Kelowna Condo project and that it can be completed in 5 years.

Accompanying the new condos and townhouses at Aqua will be several street level retail opportunities. There is also plans for a lovely public boardwalk in front of the building that would link the front of the Eldorado across Aqua and then following a path to the new main entrance of the Mission Creek Greenway.  The hope is for park goers leaving Mission Creek Greenway to continue into the Lower Mission condos at Aqua and the retail spaces available there. This would be ideal for the many restaurant owners in this area and create an urban destination on the lake that is often lacking in the city.
